As a key coal production base in Vietnam, the mine features a main coal seam thickness of 2.8 to 3.5 meters, an underground roadway network exceeding 8,000 meters in total length, and a mining depth of up to 520 meters. Previously, the mine relied on traditional winch-based transportation systems, which involved multiple transfer points, resulting in low efficiency, difficult passage through narrow roadways, and prolonged transportation cycles. These issues posed significant safety risks and severely constrained the mine’s production capacity.
In response to the mine’s tropical, humid underground environment and complex curved roadway conditions, we customized an explosion-proof diesel engine monorail system. The system is equipped with high-strength tracks and flexible steering mechanisms, achieving a minimum horizontal turning radius of 4 meters to adapt to the complex underground roadway layout. Additionally, the traction system was optimized to enhance resistance to humidity and high temperatures, ensuring stable operation under harsh conditions.
During project implementation, our professional technical team was stationed on-site to oversee track installation, system commissioning, and personnel training. Strictly adhering to local coal mine safety standards, the entire installation and commissioning process was completed in just 45 days, successfully passing acceptance and entering operation.
Since its deployment, the monorail system has enabled seamless, uninterrupted material transportation from the shaft entrance to the working face, eliminating the bottlenecks of traditional transportation methods. Transportation efficiency has increased by over 60%, with single-trip time reduced to one-third of the original duration. Furthermore, the system has significantly reduced labor intensity, cutting the number of on-site operators by 12 per shift. It has effectively mitigated safety hazards such as material slippage and personnel collisions.
To date, the monorail system has operated stably for five years without major equipment failures, earning high recognition from the mine management. This project has become a benchmark for our expansion into the Southeast Asian market.
